Correlation Constraints for Regression Models: Controlling Bias in Brain Age Prediction

چکیده
In neuroimaging, the difference between chronological age and predicted brain age, also known as delta , has been proposed a pathology marker linked to range of phenotypes. Brain is estimated using regression, which involves frequently observed bias due negative correlation delta. prediction models, this can manifest an overprediction young brains underprediction for elderly ones. We show that be controlled by adding constraints model training procedure. develop analytical solution constrained optimization problem Linear, Ridge, Kernel Ridge regression. The optimal in least-squares sense i.e., there no other satisfies better fit. Analyses on PAC2019 competition data demonstrate approach produces unbiased predictive models with number advantages over existing approaches. Finally, we introduce regression toolboxes Python MATLAB implement our algorithm.

Planning Level Regression Models for Prediction of the Number of Crashes on Urban Arterials in Bangladesh
In most of the developing countries, the metropolitan organizations do not assess the safety consequences of alternative transportation systems and one of the reasons is the lack of suitable methodology. The goal of this paper is to develop practical tools for assessing safety consequences of arterial roads in the context of long-term urban transportation plans in Dhaka city, the capital of Ban...
متن کاملPrediction intervals for regression models
This paper presents simple large sample prediction intervals for a future response Yf given a vector xf of predictors when the regression model has the form Yi = m(xi) + ei where m is a function of xi and the errors ei are iid. Intervals with correct asymptotic coverage and shortest asymptotic length can be made by applying the shorth estimator to the residuals. Since residuals underestimate th...
متن کاملSpatial Correlation Testing for Errors in Panel Data Regression Model
To investigate the spatial error correlation in panel regression models, various statistical hypothesizes and testings have been proposed. This paper, within introduction to spatial panel data regression model, existence of spatial error correlation and random effects is investigated by a joint Lagrange Multiplier test, which simultaneously tests their existence. For this purpose, joint Lagrang...
متن کاملPrediction of chronological age based on Demirjian dental age using robust ridge regression method
Introduction: Estimation of age has an important role in legal medicine, endocrine diseases and clinical dentistry. Correspondingly, evaluation of dental development stages is more valuable than tooth erosion. In this research, the modeling of calendar age has been done using new and rich statistical methods. Considerably, it can be considering as a practicable method in medical science that is...
متن کاملBias-corrected AIC for selecting variables in Poisson regression models
ABSTRACT In the present paper, we consider the variable selection problem in Poisson regression models. Akaike’s information criterion (AIC) is the most commonly applied criterion for selecting variables. However, the bias of the AIC cannot be ignored, especially in small samples. We herein propose a new bias-corrected version of the AIC that is constructed by stochastic expansion of the maximu...
